COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2008 Really high quality beer this one. Has a dark bitter taste, in fact bittersweet and pleasing in general. the dry part is possibly the only downside, if there is a downside, though its an excellent ale especially in winter, does not quite feel like a summer beer, but thats ok.

Originally rated August 2004. Sampled from one of their very beautiful 500ml bottle (with hops embossed in it). Poured a nice golden-amber colour with a creamy off-white head that left a thick foamy head. The majority of smell is malt, with a hint of fruits. The mouth starts off very creamy, then leads into a world of bitterness, to then finish on a smooth level. An awesome ale with character !

Bottle (500ml): Buttery on the nose with grassy hops & a faint fruity smell. Maybe a hint of apple & orange with a slightest toffee smell too. Pours an nice amber colour with a huge, foamy white head that is extremely thick, lasts well & leaves some rather nice lacing around the glass. Some nice carbonation evident too. Sweet tasting to begin with that quickly moves into a moderately bitter finish that is very nice. The flavour tastes of a mixture of toffee & apple with a definite orange like finish. Medium bodied & quite smooth with very good carbonation. The foamy head is a joy as well. The beer is quite crisp with a dry finish that leaves you wanting more. This is an excellent all round ale that is incredibly easy to drink & would work wonders as a session ale. - - - abarwithnoname.wordpress.com

Slightly bitter. Had this one slightly cold from the fridge. Nice colour. Got a taste of cheese for some reason. Not overpowering but very tasty. Good for a session.

Tofee aromas, smooth fruit palatte, malty finish. (1 pt and 9 fl oz). The package and the aromas alone are worth the four dollars i spent!

Pours a dark, golden amber colour with an off white sizable head that persists. Great lacing. Mostly malty flavour without a lot of hoppiness to balance it out. Some burnt caramel and other spices.

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber, with a thin head. The aroma is all dark chocolate, rich and bittersweet. There is an initial grassy and floral hops flavour, followed by a delicious, bitter coffee finish. A quality bitter, and far better than Black Sheep’s "Monty Python’s Holy Ale". Good stuff.
