COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Tasty English ale! I enjoyed it a lot. It tastes like I imagine an English ale of 100 years ago to taste like. A lot better than most Young’s/Fuller’s ales.

Pours cloudy deep amber with low white head. Aroma of malt, bread, light caramel and citrus. Taste is mild bitter with a fruit and caramel sweet finish. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation.

Brown/copper pour with minimal head. Some grassy hop aromas along with light toast. Slightly watery mouthfeel (expected in a mild ale). Finishes mildly bitter. Pretty good overall.

500ml bottle. Pours a rusty brown with little head. Starts with a big kick of maltiness and funky hops with a yeasty note leading to a long clean bitter finish.

Bottle at bar. Copper in the glass with a retiring head. Smells like a classic English bitter and tastes like it too. Rather heavy in the mouth and in the stomach - I slept well that night. Fairly typical example of the style and none the worse (nor better) for it.

It is not my favourite ale. The color is copper and white foam. The taste is in the mouth metalic, a bit un pleasant, we don’t really smell the malt and some hop. I drank this beer in Lausanne.

Det er ikke godt at være det sorte får i flokken, men er denne øl det (selv lidt stolt af den indledning). En middel humlet, let sødme, med en smag af noget tørt frugt. Specielt.

Can from B&M, Team Valley, Gateshead. Amber coloured with a thick white head of foam. It has a burnt toffee and red fruity flavour with caranle notes on the smooth, slight warming finish. Pretty Good.
