Cask at the Goose, Bracknell. Hazy golden amber with a dense white head; simple malty aroma; soft and malty in the mouth with some treacle toffee; then a light bitterness before a biscuity finish. A pleasant, straightforward Yorkshire bitter.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DanielBrown (3167) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle badged as Cavern Beat Ale. A traditional British Bitter indeed. Pokey white pepper bitterness, sellotaped to a backdrop of light toffee malt and prickling fizz - a like a 1984 Weetabix costume at Syston Carnival. Pleasant enough I suppose, but tradition can hold one back. The Beatles deserve a slightly better beer than this.

I enjoy this straight forward beer. A slight treacley maltiness with roasted coffee highlights. Such a lovely texture. Mmmmmm. Oaty lovelyness.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 strawman (26) - - MAY 19, 2012
Bottled from The Cavern Club, Liverpool.
Pours clear with a firm, off white head. Good lacing. Light cereal notes in the aroma. Tawny amber in colour. Evenly balanced bitterness in the taste with a soft a velvetty mouthfeel. Just the right amount of carbonation. Slight hints of barley sugar sweets in the aftertaste, but certainly not too sweet. Very nice beer from an excellent brewery, enjoyed in a brilliant location. This certainly Please Pleased Me!
