Sweet berry barley malt aroma - very nice. Clear amber color with a moderate, long lasting head. Slightly sweet barley malt and moderately bitter grass hops flavor. Enjoyed many a pint of this in Upper Nidderdale - excellent.

Keeping ale simple is no bad thing! One of several lovely Black Sheep ales brewed in Masham, North Yorkshire (also home of Theakstons). Good brewery tour and nice food.

Hazy amber color. Earthy malt aroma. Fresh malt taste, easily drinkable, caramel, with a precise apple character, ending with a bold bitterness.

On tap in the Bear, Sheffield. Caramel, toffee and malt aroma. Really does have a great aroma just like a dessert. Copper appearance with a thin white creamy head. Malt flavour with a great texture. Makes for a good session ale. Sweet, smooth, caramel. Great beer.

Bottled from The Cavern Club, Liverpool.
Pours clear with a firm, off white head. Good lacing. Light cereal notes in the aroma. Tawny amber in colour. Evenly balanced bitterness in the taste with a soft a velvetty mouthfeel. Just the right amount of carbonation. Slight hints of barley sugar sweets in the aftertaste, but certainly not too sweet. Very nice beer from an excellent brewery, enjoyed in a brilliant location. This certainly Please Pleased Me!

Cask @ The Clarendon, Leicester. Your traditional brown coloured brown bitter. I really like black sheep best bitter as when I was a young man (read teenager) I loved black sheep best, so the brewery is nostalgic to me. That being said, This isn't exactly the best beer I've drunk and it has that muddy yeasty taste that black sheep has. And I don't live in Yorkshire any more so it's not exactly 10 a penny any more. I like it. Boring old mans beer that it is.

Cask at the Hoop and Grapes, Aldgate. Light fruity hop aroma. Amber gold color with a firm white head. Starts fruity, followed by malt, followed by bitter. Not quite medium mouthfeel. The finish is very well balanced. Almost a peach hint in the finish. Otherwise fairly astringent at the end.
