500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in an English pint glass. Pours clear amber with a frothy beige head. Head fades slowly and leaves decent lace. On the nose, the aroma has notes of Goldings and toasted, biscuity malt along with a touch of citrus. The flavour is well balanced with a mild-moderate sweetness up front, leading towards a dry, hoppy bitter finish. It is moderately acidic throughout. The finish is medium and fairly crisp. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth milky texture and a finish that feels somewhat chalky. Overall, this is not a bad example, but the bottling takes away much of the complexity present in the cask version. Drinkable, but a bit dry and chalky for my taste in a bitter. 2010-07-16

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 drowland (3570) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 14, 2010
7/14/10. English bomber into a pint glass. Amber pour with a creamy white head that sticks around in at least a few millimeters. Very plain aroma with a hint of bitterness and dry grain. The flavor is bready with a dash of caramel and a touch of bitterness, but not much going on. Dry chalky mouthfeel that lingers.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 zebracakes (1340) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Bottle purchased at the Sainsbury Local in York. Pours clear amber, off white head. Aroma is hoppy and malty and so is the taste. A bit too malty for me. I erroneously assumed that this was a stout, based on the name.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 will1 (107) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - JUN 22, 2010
Bottled from co-op. Light coloured - amber with a pale brown head. Aroma quite sweet and hay-like with a hint of honey.. Sweetness in the flavour which is balanced by substantial bitterness. A lot of flavour for a bitter. Very good.
