COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

500 mL bottle from LCBO. App.: pours med. amber with a tight, off white head. Aroma: pleasant sweet maltiness, vinous notes, a slight nuttiness. Palate: med.-light body with fairly aggressive carbonation. Flav.: quite dry, some malt comes through, a bit of tartness and a fairly lengthy, mild-moderate bitter finish. I would have liked a bit more flavour, but not too bad.

In the bottle at the HyVee Oktoberfest beer tasting in Council Bluffs. Medium amber color. Nutty sweet aroma reminiscent of chestnuts. Rich off-white head. Medium palate, with great lacing. Finishes with a mild hop profile. 3

(07.28.06) One pint 0.9 oz brown bottle from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. Roasted malt with slight skunk aromas. Poured clear amber with medium white head. Soft carbonation. Light-to-medium bodied ale that starts dry with light toasted malt flavor. Slight bitterness in the middle. Quick dry finish. Though rather thin and watery, this is a decent drinkable bitter ale nonetheless.

Tofee aromas, smooth fruit palatte, malty finish. (1 pt and 9 fl oz). The package and the aromas alone are worth the four dollars i spent!

Amber color, with a frothy beige head, malty nose, with a biscuity malt, nutty, faint hops aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp cramelized, and biscuity malts, with a bready dough note, some nutty and hops bitterness accents, leading towards an earthy maltiness and flowery hops bittering finish.

An attractive golden-brown English brew with a light head. A bit thin in the nose, with an aroma primarily of floral hops. Well carbonated for a pleasant mouthfeel, the barley and hops are well balanced in this smooth brew. A hint of caramel tangos with the lemon peel in this one, all set off against the floral essence of the hops. All in all, a damned fine bitter!

Poured a nice golden brown with a thin head. The aroma was hops and some sweetness and then into a sharp bitterness that lasted. Finished with a taste of malt and then dry and bitter.good stuff

Great tasting beer, dark bitter ales are always a classic English drink. I dont drink this as much as I used to, but still an old favourite.
