COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Pours a nice medium amber color. Aromas of toasty malts and a touch of hops. Flavor is nutty, malty, and slight hop bite.

Deep golden brown colour with a strong whitish head. Not a strong smelling beer, only with a slightly malty nose. A distinct malty taste with a bitter, wheat finish. (Bottle).

Sample BI Indy gathering 2/25/06 - Aroma is sweet, malt, and banana. Pours yellow-brown with small head and good lacing. Flavor is pretty lame. Palate is thin and clean. My notes said to copy the Butty Bach so I did.

Frothy, rocky, off-white, large, holding & lacing over transparent yet thick amber/copper with apparent stickiness. Sharp hops to start with green wood, light caramel and crusty breadiness (and by that I mean, "like the crust of white bread"). Creamy in the mouth, although a little on the thin side. Honey and tea bitters to start the flavor, mellowing to a nicely balanced ESB with hearty malts (lightly sweet) to balance the sharpness of the hops and yeast.

The bottle poured a slightly hazy dark amber colored beverage with an ample off-white smooth head that was mostly lasting and left beautiful lacing on the glass. The aroma was on the malty side of things with a nice fruitiness and notes of bubblegum and cotton candy in the background. The body was medium-full with a smooth medium carbonation and a nice dry texture. The flavor starts off every so slightly sweet. As it matures on the pallet, it takes on a more bitter character. The finish is fairly long and presents a nice bitter and dry character.

Bottled. Copper colored beer with an off-white head leaving nice lacings in the glass. Aroma is fruity and piney. Flavor much the same, with a pronounced bitterness and malty sweetness. Medium body and a long piney bitterness in the finish. A pleasant ESB. (060217)

Dark coppery color, medium yellow head. Thin to medium bodied. Dry, flowery, hopped, mildly caramel and chocolaty aroma. Flavor has spices and some caramel in start, ends with bitter, fruity and hopped aftertaste. Good basic bitter.
