COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Bottle LCBO. Perhaps my current favourite of the northern breweries I was keen to taste this fabled beer. Pours amber, somewhat cloudy, with generous tan head. Quite pretty. Aroma of sweet malts. On the lighter side with small carbonation. Initial bitterness fades quickly into a not altogether aftertaste. A bit of a disappointment.

Bottle. Amber pour; one inch tan head. Sweet toffee aroma in the malt leads to light woody hops. Chewy mouthfeel, medium body. Malt forward flavour: more toffee, black bag tea, grassy hops, mild bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a large white head. A sweet nose of hops, earthy malts, caramel. A nice dry flavor of caramel, dry fruits, spicy hops, bittersweet. Enjoyable.

500mL bottle. Pours hazy gold with a short-lived off-white head. Subdued aroma of toffee. A bit of a roasty bite on the flavour without much else to back it up. Light-medium bodied, soft carbonation, and a mildly unpleasant lingering bite on the finish. Pretty bland.

Pronounced honey and malt nose. Clear amber, medium yellow head. Honey to toffee flavor, somewhat dry, mossy finish. Good, easy drinking bitter, with a little character.

Aroma: Bready, thick stale malts and caramel

OK, but too sweet for me.
