Cask at Hole in the Wall, Darlington. Golden amber colour, creamy white head leaving lots of lacing and malty & slightly vinegary aroma. The taste is malt, fruity with some tartness and an earthy bitterness. Smooth mouth feel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. OK bitter.

Cask by handpump at Glen Park Hotel, Ayr - golden bet with a very slight haze, bubbly off-white head, good lacing, no detectable aroma, no strong flavour, sweet malty, bit of fruit, bit cold, quite refreshing, no prolonged aftertaste

The beer that turned me on to cask ale when I was a teenager. A perennial favourite even if it is not very exciting. Sweet aroma, some bitterness to taste, my yardstick for boring session bitters. There are loads worse, there are some better. I like this one.
