3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5919) - Montréal, - NOV 23, 2007
Clearish golden ale covered by a lasting white cover. Sandy, floral and quite bitter beer with a rather generic maltiness. No real toastiness shows hop, it hesitates on a strawy character that lacks confidence. Nevertheless, it packs a fair bitterness and finishes with punch and length.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2012
Dec 2006: A Saint Barabara’s Day lunch, first course, 4 pints of Black Sheep (I wont tell you what else I drank).
Very lively, but once it settled down, it looked a treat, off white foaming head on a body of pure delight, a fine amber brown.
The hop aroma isn’t overly strong, but is there if you search for it.
Well balanced taste, a true bitter in every sense.
Taste stays for a while, a mid-sweet-mildly-bitter flavour.
Very drinkable.
2011 Update: 1st course at this years Saint Barbara’s function, only 3 pints this time. Still a well balanced easy drinking session bitter: ideal before the onslaught of the wines and port which followed.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jackl (727) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2011
Deep amber color with little head. A classic bitter in appearance. The nose is sweet and biscuity. The taste is moderately bitter with a light balancing sweetness. This is a pleasantly dry bitter. Sure, this is a bit boring, but it’s a classic.

Orange amber colour with a creamy white head. Smell of sulphur and caramel. Medium light crisp body. Bitter taste of wheat, water, malt with a light sour feel. Very simple.

In cask , Londra, potabile è potabile ma a parte che è uguale a tutte le altre bitter, poi meno male che è well hopped

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Vladivostok (103) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2011
A subtle hop aroma, but overall I just find this beer way too thin. The only characteristic I can discern is a sharp bitterness. Not the best ’ordinary’ I have ever tasted by a country mile.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 6, 2011
First tasted in the Overflow, Glasgow in November 1993. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper red in colour with a thin white creamy head. Dry roasted grain in the short aroma. Thin but clean mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a fruity marmalade flavour with citric undertones. Dry bitter hop resins in the short aftertaste with a slight metallic tang. Finish is dry and bitter. An ok session bitter but I do prefer Theakstons best bitter in comparison though.

On cask at Greyhound Hotel, Shap. Pours copper, it’s a nice enough best bitter, rather bland though.
