3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
An unassuming beer; sampled from the bottle on holiday. The aroma is fruity malt. The appearance is copper with thin carbonation and lacing. The taste starts off with fruit (berry-ish) then presents a not-long-lasting hop bitterness. Palate is on the thin side. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a light golden colour with a thin white head. Their is a light citrus hoppy aroma. The taste is malty with a citrus flavours with a long dry finish. Not a bad beer from a good brewery.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle in London. Orange/brown colour. Tall foamy head. Hoppy nose. Soapy, creamy flavour. Some caramel. Too much carbonation. Fair enough. Nothing particularly interesting about it though. (Fair enough as I scored it at Tesco...)

Quite heavily carbonated but definitely pleasant. Nice, light, hoppy bitterness with fruity hints.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, as Tescos FInest Golden Ale. Used copper with off-white head. Farmy hop aroma and dull corn. Fairly heavy carbonation, light resin hops, plum esters, some caramel sweetness. Not bad, but sort of dead. Like there was life in this at some point in the brewing process (not like itís made with bad technique or ingredients), but itís gone now, and just the shadows linger.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bright, hoppy aroma. Dry and light taste in the mouth. I honestly donít anything but the hops in the taste. The finish is very ho-hum, boring. A fairly standard UK bitter with no flash or flare. I am sure off the tap with would be a nice beer to drink with spicey food. As for sitting back and sipping, not to much write about.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Red amber and draped with lace. Wafts with robust hopcone sweatiness, chalk and toffee. Demerara really apparent now Iíve read the bottle, but kept in check with a big, ripe, orange-accented dose of hops. Silky, slatey, slightly floral. No-nonsense hop bitterness smoothed out with creamy, faintly chocolatey malt. Aftertaste is digestive biscuit caramel sweetness with a scatter of oats. Balanced, aromatic, tasty ale.
Earlier Rating: 3/22/2007 Total Score: 3.5
Slightly sulphurous, musty nose with hints of juicy hop, cut grass and bunnypiss (compliment). That slate-like, alkaline, chalky-maltly smoothness I associate with Sam Smithís. Punchy hop bitterness in the finish. Creamy, drawn-out biscuity afters. Pretty decent, and a very welcome antidote to Mongozo banana íbeerí.
