Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and sulphur, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Comes as "Tesco Finest Golden Ale". Pours a slightly hazy golden with a white head. Typical skewed British hop aroma - God what a mess. Medium body, some lightly sweet fruit but also sulphur and a strange tang. Not bad - just British. Dry, hoppy finish. 111009

Bottle at home with Lyoli. Pours clear gold with a modest, white head. Some honey, malts and yeast on the nose. Flavor is lightly sweet, faintly bready with some kind of tart citrus. Light to medium in body with lively carbonation. Finishes very crisp with fine, citrus bitters, mild sugars and hints of alcohol. Decent.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2014 500ml bottle from Tesco. Quite clearly this is copper coloured, so not sure why it is called Golden. Thin off white head. Nice white flesh fruit aroma. Apple and peach are distinguishable. Bit of fartyness as well. Bit thin and tinny in mouth with too much carbonation. Shame this is pasteurised and too carbonated, because it could have been a good bitter. Finish has some tingly hop and more orchard fruit, but frankly I can?t get over that mouthfeel and the metallic deadness 2.4/5 re rate. Ok golden bitter

Bottle at Shanes house, from local offie in Englefield Green, 15/03/13. Clear golden with a thin white head. Nose is caramel, malt, sugar, light hops. Taste follows, caramel, touch of dough, malt, barley. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation with a touch of spritz, light bitterness in the finish. Ok - a safe bet I guess but a bit boring thus assuming the classic whelmed rating.
