A great beer. But then again I like golden ales so I'm probably gonna like it. It pours a medium dark amber hue with hints of red. It's got a very wet feel to it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light citrusy hoppy aroma. Golden hue with a good foamy white head. Malty with citrus hints and a long refreshing bitter dry finish. A classic English pale ale. Well worthy of its "finest" label. This beer is actually exclusive to Tesco selected from the beers at the Tesco beer challenge.

(Bottle) Clear amber golden with big white head. Reasonable aroma of grassy hops. Medium body, light carbonation. Flavour characterised by hops, providing pleasant herbal hints to start with nice bitterness in the finish. Overall a very nice beer.

Deep golden colour, fizzy foamy head. Rich bready and yeasty smell, leafy, hoppy and yeasty aroma. Mild bitterness. A lovely session ale.

Black Sheep is a good brewery, and this didn’t disappoint - a clear copper pour with good white head, aroma of malt and dried fruit. Flavour has a good balance of malts and spicy hops, smooth mouthfeel, finish bittersweet and lingering. Quaffable.

Red amber and draped with lace. Wafts with robust hopcone sweatiness, chalk and toffee. Demerara really apparent now I’ve read the bottle, but kept in check with a big, ripe, orange-accented dose of hops. Silky, slatey, slightly floral. No-nonsense hop bitterness smoothed out with creamy, faintly chocolatey malt. Aftertaste is digestive biscuit caramel sweetness with a scatter of oats. Balanced, aromatic, tasty ale.

Slightly sulphurous, musty nose with hints of juicy hop, cut grass and bunnypiss (compliment). That slate-like, alkaline, chalky-maltly smoothness I associate with Sam Smith’s. Punchy hop bitterness in the finish. Creamy, drawn-out biscuity afters. Pretty decent, and a very welcome antidote to Mongozo banana ’beer’.

Fine bitter. Grassy hops, maybe too herbal. Fruity with caramel. Hazy amber color, medium-big head, medium carbonation. Smooth and dry. Long herbal-bitter aftertaste.

flowery/hop aroma, bronze in colour with a decent head, highly hopped with a long bitter finish, medium bodied, good pale ale.

From bottle. I am first hit by a strong malty smell. However the appearance is excellent, it has a lovely copper bronze colour to it with a great head which clings to the glass until finished. The carbonation is perfect in this clear ale. The flavour is just as good as the appearance, perfect bitterness with a woody feel. Leaves no un savoury characteristics at all. Excellent well balanced beer. This is the Golden Sheep of the flock.

The aroma is very liquidish, a hint of bitterness the taste reminds me of plains. The appearance of the beer was relative unexciting but still eyecatching. I foind it to be pale, orange, clear in colour and slightly sparkling, a frothy white foam head an interesting consistency between you fingers and lips. In flavour it appears with medium bitterness, lightly sour rather evaporating in the mouth; the palate feels a light body, thin feel with soft carbonation but nonetheless a good long finish.
