Bottled. A dark red beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, bread, and metal, leading to a dry roasteed finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of maneliquor. Pours a clear dark brown with an orange hue and a beige head. Phenollic aroma, overripe dark fruits - even rotten. Medium body, again rotten fruit, raisins and phenols, some licorice and surprisingly little roast. Ends slightly tart. 030612

Dark brown color, almost black; generous beige head. Thin dark ale, some dark caramel flavor, but very light aroma and simple flavor; traces of liquorice; I guess that using sugar didn’t help.
Very timid offer.

Cask at the Earl of Essex - Islington, London. Pours black-brown with a creamy beige head. The nose holds dark and leathery fruits with touches of chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with ashy roasted malts, cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty well balanced to finish with more roasty malts, dry cocoa, and lightly tangy blackberries and raisins. Impressively little alcohol presence. Fair.
