Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Barely there aroma, thin brown appearance, minimal taste and slightly warming mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an amber color with a sweet caramel aroma. Taste is mildly hoppy with a tinge of caramel in the finish. A good tasting beer with an easy drinkability.

12 oz twist off bottle gifted to me as part of a World Market beers of the world 9 pack. 2632 17:18 2W printed on the neck of the bottle. The pour is a clear golden copper with a off white 1/2 inch head that falls quick. The aroma is bready malt, along with a light caramel sweetness. Under that, some faint biscuit and apple fruit. Doesn’t smell all that fresh. The taste is the toasted malt, quickly turning to the sweet caramel and apple fruit, and turns a touch sour. Touch of earthy tannic, light bitterness. The palate is thin to light bodied, watery, the unclean earth in the finish. Overall, not all that great. However, I am sure this was not terribly fresh.

Regardless of the other reviews I found this to be a very sessionable easy to drink beer. not a ton of stand out hopness or great flavor from a great yeast strain, but I liked it.

Bottle. Not a bad bitter...but not a good one either. I got it because of the name. Probably would give it a miss next time.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. I pours a deep gold color with a small, white head. The nose is bready with slight caramel notes. The flavor follows suit with slight butter, apple, caramel, and a light hoppiness. Medium bodied and easy to drink. Not all that dynamic but tasty and sessionable.

Grabbed a single based on my sister’s recommendation. Smelled or rotting meat and tasted about the same. Possibly and old bottle, but smacked of gimmicky.
