polomagnifico (532), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Mar 18, 2008 bottle. Aroma has notes of sweet grassy hops and malt. Medium amber hue with an off-white head. Flavor is caramel and grass with a bitter finish. Palate is soft and light bodied. Kind of a let down with a funky after taste. More novelty than anything. FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Mar 14, 2008 Very little aroma, other than "generic beer". Copper color with a white head that disipated at a medium rate. Fairly typical ESB taste with a dry and hoppy finish. Nothing *special* however. Not a bad brew, but not a standout either. bma4573 (136), Mechanicsville, Maryland, USA Mar 10, 2008 Pours a cloudy ruby color, with a white lacing head. Nice citrus/fruit aromas. with a bitter sweet flavor and a nice hop finish. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA Mar 10, 2008 pours hazy copper with a quickly dissipating head. lots of lace sticks to the side of the glass. delicious aroma of citrus and pine. not a huge hit, but the hops in the taste took me by (pleasant) surprise. there are dried fruit notes in the taste. the finish is dry, and slightly bitter. I wish i had bought another bottle of this. the witches did not die in vain producing this beverage. Swalden28 (1442), McKinney, Texas, USA Mar 10, 2008 Not a bad beer at all....Poured a nice dark amber with good off white head retention....Aroma was of sweet malt. Tasted like a pretty good basic ale.... pkbites (309), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 6, 2008 No real aroma, but overall I find this one a tad under rated. Looks like an average pour, but the head is yeasty and malty and floats on top of the brew like a slowly melting scoop of ice cream. Some decent heartyness and a half-way decent bitterness on the aftertaste. Not great, but good. A very drinkable ale. Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Mar 4, 2008 Blah. That is about it. Blah. Not much of an aroma there at all. Picking up some fruit smells but very faintly, kind of. Head n left pretty quickly and the taste was watery, no hoppy. Sorry, I want the best for something with such a classic name. It was drinkable if hanging out with the friends but not worth the $3.50 a pint at a store. Chapel (329), Levittown, New York, USA Feb 27, 2008 Very, very meh. There really isn’t anything to this. I certainly don’t think it tastes anything like other ESBs I have had, but I don’t know what other style it fits into. I would say Pale lager if it was a lager.
