Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

bottle. Aroma has notes of sweet grassy hops and malt. Medium amber hue with an off-white head. Flavor is caramel and grass with a bitter finish. Palate is soft and light bodied. Kind of a let down with a funky after taste. More novelty than anything.

Very little aroma, other than "generic beer". Copper color with a white head that disipated at a medium rate. Fairly typical ESB taste with a dry and hoppy finish. Nothing *special* however. Not a bad brew, but not a standout either.

Pours a cloudy ruby color, with a white lacing head. Nice citrus/fruit aromas. with a bitter sweet flavor and a nice hop finish.

pours hazy copper with a quickly dissipating head. lots of lace sticks to the side of the glass. delicious aroma of citrus and pine. not a huge hit, but the hops in the taste took me by (pleasant) surprise. there are dried fruit notes in the taste. the finish is dry, and slightly bitter. I wish i had bought another bottle of this. the witches did not die in vain producing this beverage.

Not a bad beer at all....Poured a nice dark amber with good off white head retention....Aroma was of sweet malt. Tasted like a pretty good basic ale....

No real aroma, but overall I find this one a tad under rated. Looks like an average pour, but the head is yeasty and malty and floats on top of the brew like a slowly melting scoop of ice cream. Some decent heartyness and a half-way decent bitterness on the aftertaste. Not great, but good. A very drinkable ale.

Blah. That is about it. Blah. Not much of an aroma there at all. Picking up some fruit smells but very faintly, kind of. Head n left pretty quickly and the taste was watery, no hoppy. Sorry, I want the best for something with such a classic name. It was drinkable if hanging out with the friends but not worth the $3.50 a pint at a store.

Very, very meh. There really isn’t anything to this. I certainly don’t think it tastes anything like other ESBs I have had, but I don’t know what other style it fits into. I would say Pale lager if it was a lager.
