Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

500 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a light amber color with a clumpy, sudsy, white head. The aroma was light and featured sweet hops. The taste was a weak and a bit laggerish, it sort of reminded me of a watered down Heineken. The mouthfeel was thin and watery. Finish was short, dry and just a touch biter. Overall: I knew this was a novelty beer when I bought it, (I am a MP fan) but it was worse than my low expectations. On the plus side it did make a relatively good accompaniment to anchovy pizza. But, not recommended.

I love all things Python, so i thought i would take a chance on this novelty. Unlike all things Python, this brew is pretty average. Ok color, not much head, aroma of hops and alcohol. Flavor was pretty average. Hops in abundance and a dry finish. Mouth feel was crisp and dry. Very woody taste and finished with a medicinal aftertaste. Probably the alcohol. I’ve had better...

50 cl bottle from my neighbor Steve - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Faint spotty lacing. Aroma is light malt and herbal hops. Flavor has a lingering hop bitterness. I have a hard time rating these Bitters. Glad I live in the land of West Coast IPA’s. By the way, this is a decent beer. Thanks again Steve.

purchased at puget sound wine cellar in port orchard, washington. pours clear light copper-orangish with a medium size foamy egg-shell head, the head does not stay around that long. smell of wine, some hops, earthiness. taste is also wine-like, a little bit hoppy, leaves the mouth dry. overall its okay, but nothing to write home about.

Bottle. Poured with a three finger high head, body a thin copper color, has a slight hoppy bite to it. I’m surprised how low this beer is rated for how good it is.

Had this @ The Winking Lizard on Bethel while watching the Arizona Oregon game with my boys Spencer & Scott. Special thanks to Spencer for hooking me up with the sample for a rating. Nose of dried fruit, butterscotch, flowers and the smallest hint of alcohol. Pours a clover honey. The mostly lasting creamy white head leaves fair lace. The brew has a malty front, medium acidity in the middle, and a raisinish long bitter finish. The medium soft body is creamy with a dry feel to the finish. Very nice, I like! Hi - Five! Sorry you didn’t like it Spencer, I tried to warn ya!!

A mild and light beer. Didn’t expect too much and I got what was expected. A very mild hop flavor.

Pours cooper with thick off-white head. Aroma is moderately hoppy, with faint caramel malt. Taste is also grassy hops and medium dark malt. Moderate sweetness, but dry finish. Burning witches not detectable.
