Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Pours golden with long-lasting foamy head. Yeasty aroma. Flavor profile more skewed than the Ministry of Funny Walks, with possible notes of Dead Parrot.

Amber colored beer with a lightly hoppy aroma. Rather soft caramel malts, mildly bitter. Rather sweet and syrupy, but not bad.

Amber chestnut in colour with a hoppy, grassy aroma with a hint of freshly brewed tea. Fairly hoppy taste with light maltiness and some citrus tones. Pleasant aftertaste. Not bad at all.

Lighter bodied hoppy English beer, what else can be said. Not a bad beer but far from stellar.

500ml bottle.
Pours a clear dull burnt orange with some sparkly highlights and a decent white head. Aroma of alcohol, wine, and fruity hops. Flavour follows closely behind. I wasn’t much of a fan of this one.

This is a very nice, smooth, bitter with a light but nice hoppy bitterness. It is coppery gold, with some bubbles, a thick, lasting off-white head and fairly good lacing. The aroma is of pine, lemon, and bread. The taste has great balance of sweet and bitter, malts and hops, is very smooth and well blended, and has a nice, smooth biscuit-pine finish. While it does not knock you over with flavour, it has subtle complexities and is light, crisp, and very clean. It is almost tart in the end.
