Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

500 mL bottle. Aroma is of musty hops, with a bit of caramel toffee. Pours a clear amber. Taste is a bit thin and bitter, with an unfortunate slight metallic tinge. Finish is pretty clean. Overall not too bad, but wouldn’t be a normal purchase for me.

500 ml. Clear, golden-burnt orange with a huge head that lasts and leaves some crusty lace. Aroma is caramel apple. Taste is caramel apple with some buttery diacetyl flavoring slathered on top. Finishes with some sour and slightly grassy, bitter herbs. Palate is light, watery and flattish, with a dry finish. Not bad, but seems like a bitter, instead of a premium.

First and foremost... points for packaging. Pours a dark coppery color with a large, milky off-white head that retreats slowly. Great fruity aroma and taste. Good bitter taste also. 1pt 0.9 oz. bottle.

[Sampled in 2004.] Very bitterbitter in a strange way, but quite tasty also. Funny beer, but then it follows tradition to the Montys.

Pours a yellow/orange colour with a white foamy head that leaves behind some sticky white lacing. Aroma of hops, and some sweet malt scents. Like the aroma the flavour is pretty straight forward, malt sweetness upfront, hop bitterness in the finish. Uninteresting, but well balanced, refreshing, would have gone good with a meal.

typical English bitter style beer, not too overwhelming in any way but well balanced for session drinking, The bottle says it was brewed in Masham, Yorkshire.

Pours amber with large head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is malt -- some hops but thin in flavor and somewhat watery. Easy to chug. Not much complexity here.
