Nice but weak toffee/caramel nose. Notes of grassy hops. Taste is moderately sweet malts, slightly bittering hops with some very nice fruity notes. Light to medium body. Mild lingerering bitter end. A nice one, but I’ll preferer the John Cleese ’silly walk’ on the label... Maverick34 (695), New York, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Apr 13, 2007 This beer pours a dark golden color. A little like a darker Budweiser (which is a little disconcerting. It has a frothy looking head that stays around for a while and is made of rather large bubbles. Looking through the beer I also notice that there are large bubbles shooting to the surface of the beer at a pretty good clip. Smells pretty much like a standard ale and maybe a little skunky. This ale tastes sweet with a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Has a little bit of a grassy flavor to it too. This isn’t my favorite ale, but it gets props for the Monty Python marketing. michael-pollack (2646), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 9, 2007 50cl Bottle: Moderately sweet aroma. Smells strangely of banana and caramel malts. Also has aroma of sawdust. Poured amber in color with a medium, rocky, off-white head that lasted throughout. Good lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is moderately sweet but not bitter. Tastes heavily of malts, with some herbs and grass mixed in. Finishes with flavor of coardboard box, and strangely, matzo ball soup. Medium body. Watery texture. Soft carbonation. Malty finish. Overall, not an ESB, and not good. Rune (2787), Tromsø, Norway
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Tempered over burning witches. 500ml bottle from Centra, Majorstuen in Oslo. Clear, dark amber coloured body. Dense white head quickly reduced to a filmy layer. Caramel malty to the nose. Initial caramel flavour followed by almond, wheat and kiwi fruit with adding bitterness from the hops. Dry ending. The downside is a much too foamy mouthfeel (07.04.2007). cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

I smelled a bit of a sweet berry smell. Taste was a bit weak. Tasted of berry as well. Was sticky, almost tasted muddy... doubelknv3 (566), Illinois, USA
