Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Bottle at Winking Lizard - Pours amber with a slight haze and a short offwhite head with some lace. Aromas of caramel, toffee, and slight citrus. Flavor is caramel, toffee, slight citrus, and toasted malts. Medium body with light carbonation.

Aroma of floral/citrus hop. Light amber color with a white head that didn’t stay long. Starts with fruit; stone fruit; maybe some kiwi berry. Followed by malt, and getting balancing hop in at the finish. Finishes quite dry. Really complex interplay of components. Firm mouthfeel that hardly thins at all.

Nice, dark amber head. Aroma is pleasing. Flavor is another story. Very bitter with a strong alcohol taste.

Bottle. By the way, Favorite Movie. Anyhow.. pours a copper color, with a rapidly fading head. Plenty of hops provinding quite the bitter kick. Its a very dry beer so the kick is swift and quick and fades quickly. Full mouthfeel makes this an enjoyable drink.

How could one resist such a named beer. Its light ruby in colour, with a light malt fruit and a little bitter. We are the Knights who say "I’ll have a another"

lasting frothy head over clear copper pour. Really yeasty (that kind that would smell bad on its own but it’s objectionably acceptable in a beer) and a bit citrussy aroma. A wierd flavor combo of chocolate and lemons.

An interesting novelty brew. A nice full aroma which no offencive bitterness. A good colour, although not as Dark as I would have guessed. Good full bodied flavour. Overall, above average.

1pint 0.9oz. bottle pours a dark amber orange head, with a good light tan head. Overall it was a descent beer for the price, but I wish it was a little stronger.
