Nice blend of sweet caramel and dry biscuit malt. Tangy and lightly herbal hops for balance and a pleasant residual bitterness. Seems to have more alcohol than the 4.7% listed. Monty Python is a cool name fo the ale. biznizness (930), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Jan 2, 2007 Yep, standard bitter but I enjoyed this one, cool bottle, hey gotta love Monty Python. Just saw Spamalot a few weeks ago so I am on a kick. FrankJohansen (3329), Sabro, Denmark Jan 2, 2007 Bottle. Standard english bitter. Aroma and taste of malts with hoppy and fruity notes. Nothing special. mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jan 1, 2007 It seems to me that 90 percent of the beers I try in Canada are sweet, so maybe they import only sweet beers from England or something. So anyway, the beer is reddish amber. Smells all caramel and malty. The beer itself is all sweet, then has a coffee finish. Little spicy taste on the side. I don’t know if this is really an ESB... no bitterness or anything. Quite a good brew overall though. Airlifter (116), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Dec 31, 2006 On tap at the Yardhouse, KC. Light caramel color. Mild, hoppy aroma. Hoppy flavor, with metal and grapefruit. Has a pleasant wheaty, yeasty sweetness. Alcohol bite at the end, stronger as the beer warmed.
