Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Bottle. Standard english bitter. Aroma and taste of malts with hoppy and fruity notes. Nothing special.

It seems to me that 90 percent of the beers I try in Canada are sweet, so maybe they import only sweet beers from England or something. So anyway, the beer is reddish amber. Smells all caramel and malty. The beer itself is all sweet, then has a coffee finish. Little spicy taste on the side. I don’t know if this is really an ESB... no bitterness or anything. Quite a good brew overall though.

On tap at the Yardhouse, KC. Light caramel color. Mild, hoppy aroma. Hoppy flavor, with metal and grapefruit. Has a pleasant wheaty, yeasty sweetness. Alcohol bite at the end, stronger as the beer warmed.

Pours medium amber into an English pint. Soapy head is quite nasty to behold. Sour sweet with a bitter finish. Points for Python. Ni!

Bitter and malty... good balance. Dark bronze/copper in color. Good beer... I have really become a fan of this style over time.

Very nice English bitter ale. The color is perfectly bronzy, and the head sticks around just long enough. Very flavorful.

On tap @ Ashley’s: Copper with an off white head. Aroma, caramel, pale malts and yeast. Flavor, yeasty, some spicy hops, and floral notes as well, pale malts. So so.
