Aroma is fairly light, not much going on at all with this beer. Some notes of hops and bready malts. Flavor starts off pretty bland with a bready taste to begin with. The beer finishes with a hoppy bitterness but nothing to get the other taste out of your mouth. screigh (260), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Poured a light copper color. Very clear beer. One finger head that quickly disappated but did leave some decent lacing. Aroma is almost nonexistent with a slight hint of malt. It tastes a lot better than it smells. Slight woody taste with some bitter on the finish. While this isn’t great it is better than I had expected. It stares at me in the liquor store each week and I finally broke down. But will not purchase again at its high price point. With the taste I am really suprised this is classified as an ESB because it doesn’t seem to fit. probstk (1027), Nepean, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 31, 2006 Pours light-med. copper with a decent, tight sl. reddish-beige head. A bit of hops on the nose with other "green" notes. A bit grainy, cereally. Med. bodied, and med. carbonation. Reasonably sweet celery, a bit grainy. Cidery, apple finish and a touch a acidity. Very slight bitterness. I don’t like SPAM! I mean, Holy Grail. loseratheart (110), USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2006 A great show, and a great name for a not so great beer. Pours from the bottle to a reddish orange with medium off-white head that lingers, and excellent lacing. From there, I must say NEE! Aroma is faint grassy, floral hops. Taste is OK, but no flavor in particular jumps out. Palate is immediately too dry, not bitter enough, and slightly metallic. Nice try, but not there. Stefano (1325), Esbjerg, Denmark
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 22, 2006 Pours a light amber color with a little bit of cloudiness to it. Very interesting aroma of sweet fruit and some metallicy malts. Flavor was kind of weak and watery, some light caramel tones and the hops didnt deliver the bitterness i was expecting.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2006 I found it to be very smooth - not too much hoppiness (which Brit beers seem to be known for). I thought it might be a drain pour based on the hokey name but it turned out to be quite smooth. Lacked some flavor however.. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2006 (Bottle) Pours a light amber with a small, but long-lived head. Not as bitter as I expected, and especially not bitter enough to be an ESB. Sweet malty notes with some hops in the aftertaste. Drinkable, clean and refreshing.
