beedman (53), Cocoa Beach, Florida, USA Sep 21, 2006 Updated: Oct 18, 2006Certianly a nice piece of Python kitch, but not exactly an awesome beer. But what should one expect from something with the Python name on it? Pous a nice dark amber with adequate foam. Malty body with definate hop ending. Beer seems to taste better as it warms (better hop flavour). 1 pint, 0.9 oz bottle. I think it might be better if were left unpasteurised. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Sep 20, 2006 Bottle. A light amber color. Big head. Malt and caramel in aroma with notes of alcohol. Taste of hops and a little bitterness. ilikestuff (222), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Sep 13, 2006 Was very smooth and had little carbonation. Had a wine flavor to it with a big presence of butterscotch. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA Sep 13, 2006 pours clear amber with thick off white head. retain and laces. fruity spicy aroma. has a spicy crispness with and light to moderate english malt body. finish dry. very quaffable but mediocre Nightfall (645), Athens, Greece Sep 12, 2006 Ok I have to admit that I bought it just for the name since I am a MP fan. I expected something average or even below that , but was pretty surpised. A decent good looking bitter. Crisp and malty. Balanced taste of fruit and spices. Very nice. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Sep 4, 2006 Cloudy amber with a thick creamy head. Nice fruity aroma with a touch of anise, but it didn’t really transfer to tasting where it was full of peppery spice. Some shallow bitterness in the flavour that seemed a bit out of balance. It’s a reasonable beer, but nothing of note. If it was a sword it would barely inflict a flesh wound. Phatz (225), Paradise, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2006 This is a decent English Pale Ale that is good easy drinking but far from exciting. It is a very clever label on a cool uniquely shaped bottle. Certainly presentation and marketing are part of selling beer and they score points in that department. BTW: Terry Gilliam rocks!
Appearance: Pours a light golden grail colored ail (ale) =)
Smell: Not much here but a hint pale malts and musty English hops.
Taste: Pale malts and gently English hops make this a straight forward quaffable ale that is simple and easy drinking.
Mouthfeel: Light and crisp
Drinkability: Easy drinking beer made more for drinking than for thinking. Very sessionable.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers! morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Aug 29, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber/red color. Light scent of malt. Drinks clean with a crisp finish. Very nice for a bitter.
