Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

I had been given good reviews of the beer so I tried it for myself. The aroma was very faint kind of sweet. The appearance was gold in color fairly clear. The initial taste was hoppy with a bit of fruit, however it finished soapy with a unpleasant after taste, I thought the beer was at best gimick to get people to buy one well it worked and I would not buy it again.

(03.15.06) One pint, 9 fl oz brown bottle purchased from Whole foods, Deerfield, IL. Pours clear orange with average white head. Soft carbonation. Fruity esters and sweet malt in the nose. Medium bodied that starts dry with tiny malt sweetness and fruity/toasted malt/nutty flavor. Finishes dry and clean with light bittnerness and light malt fade. Good drinkable dry ale that goes well with food.

seemed a tad thinm flufffy head, aroma is a tad floral, pretty easy drinking, not really any defining taste to it.

The name is what made me buy it. Has a very interesting flavor. kind of light and watery. overall, not BAD, but very bland. It might be something for those yellow beer-drinkers to cross into the real beer realm... but def. not anything to write home about.

Pours a light amber color with creamy off-white head that quickly fades. Aroma of grassy hops and malt with a citrus element. Slightly sweet taste, well-balanced with a mild malt finish.

This is a pretty good beer. Slightly sweet taste, but still delicious. Nice head and a nice dark amber color. I find it to be even better just because it is monty python, probably the best english comedy ever made. I highly suggest it.

Pours a nice hazy golden orange color. Aromas of nice citrus/grapefruit hops. Flavor starts malty and the hops kick in, nice crisp bitter finish.
