Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Bottle. Poured a dark yellow color with a decent white head. Aroma was mostly yeast and bread. Flavor was kind of sweet and caramel. Decent beer. Not worth the price.

Aroma is yeast, white bread, hops, slight citrus/floral aroma. Kinda empty but has nice notes. Appearance is a darker golden with a frothy white head that disappears quickly. Lots of carbonation when poured but fades out fast. Very nice color in my opinion. Flavor is pretty watery but does have a nice malt with some sweetness present. Floral notes accompanied by a tingly bite at the end makes it fill out nicely. Overall, I enjoyed this one. It doesn’t necessarily have the depth or the "it" factor but decent drink nonetheless.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a tasting glass. The color is a clear gold with a slight white head. The smell is some what fruity with small hop flavor and some yeast. The taste is a bit bassic ale, not too much of a hop flavor, not too bitter, some yeast flavor. The feel of this beer is a little less of a bitterness than expected. Refreshing and crisp it does have nice drinkability and can be quite refreshing.

Amber pour, big frothy head. Floral, dry aroma. Fizzy, bitter, woody flavor with some slight floral hints. A little pine in there too. A light on carbonation, somewhat overrated.

On tap at Bacchus. I ordered this hesitantly, but was surprised pleasantly when it turned out to be not so horrible. Pours a clear orange amber with a medium white head. Aroma is pretty restrained, light sweetness and a bit of grain, a little lager like in aroma. Flavor is sweet, with a touch of apple. Finishes sweet and a little fruity.

Bottle. Pours light amber with little white head. Almost no lacing. Smell is quite like a white wine. Fruity bitterness. Not bad but not great. Have another? Eh, maybe.

Pours a clear amber color with short lived white head. Smell is toasty, bready malt and a hint of yeast. Taste is lightly toasty, with a slight bit of yeast in the flavor and a solid bitterness. Flavor is rather thin, overall though. A touch of sweetness and faint fruitiness in there too. Thin body and medium prickly carbonation. Sessionable, and drinkable but not outstanding.
