Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

On tap at Bacchus. I ordered this hesitantly, but was surprised pleasantly when it turned out to be not so horrible. Pours a clear orange amber with a medium white head. Aroma is pretty restrained, light sweetness and a bit of grain, a little lager like in aroma. Flavor is sweet, with a touch of apple. Finishes sweet and a little fruity.

Bottle. Pours light amber with little white head. Almost no lacing. Smell is quite like a white wine. Fruity bitterness. Not bad but not great. Have another? Eh, maybe.

Pours a clear amber color with short lived white head. Smell is toasty, bready malt and a hint of yeast. Taste is lightly toasty, with a slight bit of yeast in the flavor and a solid bitterness. Flavor is rather thin, overall though. A touch of sweetness and faint fruitiness in there too. Thin body and medium prickly carbonation. Sessionable, and drinkable but not outstanding.

Bottle: A light golden pour with a very thin sandy head. A dry, floral, and earthy aroma. Tastes sweet with light apple notes and a lager maltiness. Moves into an earthy and floral based tail. Sort of bland.

Not bad but fairly average. Medium bodied with moderate bitterness. Poured an amber colour with a thin beige head.

Some light yeasty fruitiness in the aroma. Caramel colored liquid, head was gone as quickly as it appeared. Some covered nuttiness in the flavor, mild spice and little hops as well. A small bit of bitter in the finish, hardly detectable. Palate is momentarily lively and gone in a second. This beer has about a seconds worth of flavor, if that could be expanded, it could do much better.

Golden-yellow pour with a whitehead. Skunky bread/yeast aroma. Light aroma of malts. Not too complex. Some bitterness at the finish.
