thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 11, 2009 I could drink a lot of these. Good clean smooth brew with good caramel flavors. Definitely try this one you will probably like it. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Mar 10, 2009 Pours an amber color with a white head. Sweet, malty aroma with toffee, caramel, and some dark fruits. Flavor didn’t match the aroma as much as I would like. A little more bitterness than I was expecting. Sweet flavors of caramel malts and dark fruits dominate with only a slight bitter finish. Strangebrewer (208), Chatham, Ontario, Canada Mar 8, 2009 bottled. Poured clear amber with deminishng off-white head. Mellow sweet cereal grain aroma. Medium carbonation. A bit earthy and caramel notes . Medium dry hoppy clean finish. AmazonMatt (284), Panama Mar 8, 2009 There must be a holy ton of these bitters floating around England. It seems like every ale from there I drink is one of these. I enjoyed this, but it wasn’t accessable. Not a huge amount of aroma, a eggshell head that leaves some nice lacing. Flavors of iced tea, carmel and a watery, slightly dry finish. Well balanced. A decent and perhaps an every day beer. I think this these British ESBs/Premium Bitters are what our definition of average (good) beer should be. tmoreau (527), Lombard, Illinois, USA Mar 4, 2009 Specialty goblet served at Lunar Brewing for the Holy Grail tapping party...with movie. Poured a clear, gold tone with a small, quickly diminishing head, and light, bubbly lacing that intermitently clinged to the glass. The aroma was light malt, light fruit esters as soft pineapple and green grape. The flavor followed these notes with the light malt, a touch of caramel, and very little hop bitterness. Thin appearance and mouthfeel, with a negligible bitterness on the finish. Drinkable but not up to my UK ESB standards. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2009 I found the aftertaste to be distasteful. ESB’s have never appealed to me and this one did not deviate from that style. jimmack34 (560), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Mar 3, 2009 1pt 0.9oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with a foamy white head. Smelled of grains, molasses, and lightly fruity. Tasted like bread grains, cereal, and sweet critric fruits. Semi earthy aftertaste. Pretty good beer. johnnysmoke (53), Texas, USA Feb 27, 2009 Pours a dull hazy light amber with a decent foamy white head. Quickly dissipates leaving thin spotty lacing. Aroma is mild light malts and some peach or apricote notes. Mild hop aroma. Flavors I found to be flat woody and quite easy on the hops or bitterness. Carbonation was quite soft and the aftertaste, was soft and easy. I suppose it is fairly refreshing, but at $4 a bottle a little undesirable.
