Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

I have been resistant to tying this due to the novelty factor… Pours an orange/copper color with a nice full and rocky head – good retention. Light co2 and some chill haze. Aroma is lightly metallic/acrid with some aroma hop. Palate is full and effervescent. Flavor has a quick but light hop bite, with a metallic finish– quite the residual twang of tartness. A decent flavor, but not necessarily representational of the style. What the hell do I know?

Cask at The Albany in London. Orangey colour with almost no head. Flat and liveless beer, not a good bitter at all.

Golden copper with a thick head. Smells like corn and wheat. Crisp taste of hops, grain, and slight earthy taste. Goes down smooth with not a touch of bitterness. A great brew!!

Interesting craft beer with the labelís commentary derived from some humour derived from Month Python skits

On tap in the Windsor Castle W8. Light golden colour. To be honest not sure this pint was in the greatest nick. Some house dryness, bitterness, but an idea that some Frenchman had farted in this beerís general direction. I had this in a bottle ages ago and remember it being better than this; a disappointment.

Dark copper with white head. Aroma is fruity English yeast, caramel and noble hops. Slick palate. Aftertaste is very dry noble hops with some alcohol. Overall: Dry like a very dry joke. Some alcohol from the use of sugar.

Bought this for the Monty Python title. Bottle. 500ml. A little darker but still light golden colour with thick white head. Smell remind me of a farm. Not a directly good farm smell. Taste: a little bit diffrent, but something is missing. ending dissapears quickly, Grass, toffee, barnyard aroma. Ok palate medium body. fizzy.
