Commercial Description:
Bottled - pasteurised.
Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

courtesy of Allen - slightly hazy dark blond colour with a little and persistent white foam; superb lacing; aroma of caramel and herbs; soft mouthfeel, moderate malt body, late and fair bitterness; dry herbal and slightly honeyish aftertaste - easy and pleasant

sort of smelt a bit like parsley and a bit spicy too, good amount of hops and fruity on the palate, although this was quite tasty, there was something i didn't agree with, a bit sweet i think.

Bottled, Pasteurised. Amber coloured low condition beer with forced carbonation. Thin flavours and a sweetish malt undernote.

Bottled: Dark golden coloured. Clear. Medium sized beige head. Aroma is a little weak. Some hops and fruityness and a light malt note. Flavour is bland too. Light hoppy, sweet and malty. Is light bitter in the end. Boring.

(bottle) Hazy, golden to amber colour with a medium-sized, off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet and yeasty cara-malt aroma with a slightly sweaty and fruity (overripe citrus) hoppy touch. Light-bitter flavour, slim bodied with a low carbonation. Moderately dry malt character, slightly chalky taste with delicate bitter and fruity hops, leading into a fairly dry and short finish. Disappointing or is it the great name that bears its burden (16.III.09).

Funny label. Nice hoppy aroma. Mild and malty flavour. A nice bottled English ale.

Bottled. Golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is dominated by a fruity unpleasant pine-apple smell. Maybe it is because it is just one week before BB-date? I have tasted this before, but can’t remember the profile of it, so I guess I’ll have to put it on my re-rate list. Ok flavor of fruits, mostly pine-apple, and pines. Resin-bitter and light fruity finish. (060124)
