Starts with fruit; stone fruit; maybe some kiwi berry. Followed by malt, and getting balancing hop in at the finish. Finishes quite dry. Really complex interplay of components. Firm mouthfeel that hardly thins at all. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

Smells of grape juice and malt. The taste is sour apple bitterness with leather, vinegar and a metallic finish. This has a light mouthfeel. tiggmtl (4312), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2003 I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised by this one. Clean lemon-floral aroma with some maltiness. Big fluffy white head that slowly recedes with excellent lacing. Dark golden colour. Decent bitterness. Simple short flavour that is quite refreshing. Lingering hops in the aftertaste. Thin-medium body with a creamy mouthfeel suits this one well. Nicely balanced between malt and hops. Bottle. BBB63 (4283), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 26, 2003 Beautiful amber color with huge rocky head, good lace and medium-bodied. There is a fruitiness on the nose that I can't quite grasp (elderberry? black raspberry?) and a hint of banana, malt, fuggles hops. Excellent balance on palate and finishes with an graham cracker aftertaste. Despite the name this is a serious beer and surprisingly good. Just could never taste the witches, maybe cause, they too are made from wood. cgarvieuk (4277), Edinburgh, Scotland

Its light ruby in colour, with a light malt fruit and a little bitter. We are the Knights who say "I’ll have a another" SilkTork (4221), Rochester, Kent, England
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 27, 2004 Bottle. Sadly this is not something completely different, even if it is tempered over roasted testicles. All the usual suspects: amber, toffee, orange, well behaved, fizz, apple. I actually quite like it - but in this condition a quality ale it aint. Ughsmash (4105), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 31, 2005 Poured a slightly cloudy amber. As mentioned below, cool name, but not a lot going for it. Aroma contained some mild malts.. but nothing special. Mild malt backbone with some hoppiness, but short of what I expected. Bitter finish, but it didn’t really seem like a hop-induced bitterness... I don’t know what it was.
