burpfrank (289), carpinteria, California, USA Jul 2, 2006 Updated: Jun 23, 2007 I wanted to like this beer just because of Monty Python, but I found it a bit weak.Tasted like it was cut with water.Had a decent head.aroma typical, color medium amber.Tasted like it had some body to it before it was watered down to make it go longer, thus make more money. It had a bitter after taste. It wanted to be good, but fell short by it being somewhat whimpy,so i will have to try again.6/07:rerated:average head and aroma.color was nice orange brown.Looked good. The taste was kind of caramel with barley.somewhat bitter finish.seems to be well balanced, but nothing fantastic.Much better than your mass produced beers, but not up to par with the good micro-brews.This would be a good transitional beer for beginners of micro brews to drink.Definitly a conversation piece at parties. Will it get you chicks??probably not,but maybe you could use it to start up a conversation, then get the chick with your silver tongue talk.
MtStateBeer (61), Hurricane, West Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2008 500 ml bottle. Pours a golden, orange-amber color with very little white head. Aroma is mainly malts, grain, bread, biscuit, and a touch of floral hops. Flavor is sweet, caramel malts, resiny hops. Light bodied, dry, flat mouthfeel. Very drinkable, sort of indistinguishable though. daknole (1122), Plantation, Florida, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle from total wine, I had just enough to taste it and no more...yuck. Gold pour, white head. Very malty aroma with some corn notes and stale crackers. Some hops are on the nose a bit, but not on the tongue. Overly malty and the hops just dont blend well. Again, YUCK. JonL (4), Toodyay, Australia does not count Nov 28, 2008 Bought it for the novelty value....good head, slight malts, pleasant enough taste. Good for throwing at Frenchmen! penguinjive7 (67), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours a copper color with a rather large white head that leaves good lacing throughout.
A biscuity smell is the most present with some hop smells as well.
The hops hit upfront, but are not strong and it is followed by a taste that is mostly bread-like. There is a hint of sweetness in the finish as well. Nothing too complex here, which lends to the difficulty in searching for descriptives.
This brew goes down easy, and it would make a good session brew.
I would not go out of my way to buy this again, but it was worth a shot for the novelty, and it was a fairly pleasant brew to boot.

It is smooth, though, like a malt bomb and then finishes like dry English tea. It is ’meh’ at best.
