Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

Bottle. Poured a clear light brown with a large frothy white head that dissapated quickly and had fair lacing. The aroma was pleasant with the scent of caramel malts, a sweet yeast and a mild grassy hop. It tasted mildly sweet in the beginning and finished about the same with a hint of caramel and hops with the flavor being very light and fading quickly at the finish. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a soft carbonation. Overall a very, very mild tasting brew. I think I like the name better than the beer.

Deep but clear orange with almost no head. Aroma is almost like a rye whiskey but quite mild. Nice and malty.

C’est sympa, c’est léger, c’est direct mais c’est pas exaltant et pas super équilibré non plus. Je n’ai pas trop senti la sorcière brulée ... En même temps, la date de consommation optimale de ma bouteille était dépassée ...

Had this as a 10 ounce pour at Park Lane Tavern in Hampton. Pleasantly surprised at the flavor, but didn’t realize it was an ESB until looking it up. Not very hoppy for an ESB. Slight head, clear copper in color, a nice mouth feel and crisp clean finish.

On tap at Lockdown in a shaker. Pours clear copper. Flavor is wet, weak caramel, slight amount of wet fruit. Not particularly bitter for an ESB. Very wet and pretty bland, which makes it quaffable but also very boring.
