| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 21, 2006 500 ml bottle. Dark ruby red and a hint of brown. Throws a tall creamy light brown head. Lightly sweet nose and a distant roastiness. Dark caramel and chocolate. Crisp bitterness at first. Then more malty flavours and a clean chocolate flavour. Surprisingly bitter. A really nice dark strong ale, but this one clearly not a session ale as it is too roasted and too potent. elav8 (4), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 17, 2006 Great full bodied beer, dark and slighty creamy. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 5, 2006 Bottle: a rich clear chestnut colour with a thick and creamy caramel coloured head; a bitter aroma with traces of coffee and boiled cabbage; thinner in the mouth than expected, with roast malt flavours and then a strong bitter burnt aftertaste. A pwerful beer that makes its presence felt, but rather one-dimensional. themadmumis (344), Westminster, Maryland, USA
