Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 5, 2003 The aroma is sweet and malty with notes of hops, yeast, caramel, and berries. The color is a very dark red and it has a beutiful beige head. The flavor is of sweet and roasted malts with notes of chocolate and fruit. It ends on a good bitterness both from the hops and the malt. A very nice stong ale. Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 15, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown - close to black - with a nice, brownish head. Malty fullness and a dry bitterness - rather marked bitterness actually. Reminds me more of an old fashioned, traditional porter. Odd name - and explanation for it. 140603 yespr (7782), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 12, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a semi creamy off-white head. Light roasted malt aroma with a light coffee-ish note. Flavour is roasted malt and coffee with a light liqourice edge from the hops. Nicely balanced and with just enough sweetness to counter balance the roasted profile. Light coffee-ish finish mixed with liqourice. Dry bitterness in the far finish. Nice one.
