On cask at Barony. Pours a dark ruby colour with a decent, light tan head. Aroma of acetone, treacle, coffee and yeast. Similar flavours with a sour lemon character. A malty, coffee finish. Mild carbonation. Not my thing.

Cask. Deep brown colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is smoked wood, toast, ashes and mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is being rather similar with mild spicyness and berries as well.

Cask @ The Brown Cow Hinderwell. A black colored beer, with a beige thick foamy head. The aroma of some coffee with hints of caramel and fruits. The taste of fruits. some bitter coffee. The aftertast is bitter with notes of sweet.

Cask, The Fat Car, Sheffield. Deep brown, roasted malt aroma. Sweet flavour, mild with a long chocolate finish.

On tap at the Wellington, Birmingham. Pours light brown. Aroma and flavour of caramel, malt, and spices. Not much else to say.

On tap at The Wellington at Birmingham, pours light brown. Aroma of spices, caramel malt and bitter English malts. Flavour of bitter / sour fruits, spices and stale caramel malts. Unpleasant.

Served a little too cold. Dark for a porter, more stout like. But fairly decent

Cask at Tobie Norris, Stamford, Lincolnshire. Very dark brown with a small off white head. Faint aroma with smoke and ash. Oily, rounded taste of dark burnt malt with a hint of bonfire. Mid bitter finish. Enjoyed this on a dank, foggy November day in this 17th Century pub in front of an open fire. Most agreeable.
