3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, amber with a thick foamy off-white head. A strong sweet fruity aroma - like peaches. A hoppy, light bitter palate, sweet fruity flavours again. Pretty good actually, though a little sweet to drink a lot of it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear amber with decent white head which dies quickly. Sweetness and grapefruit aroma. Tangy, refreshing - citrus hop flavours predominate with some soft malt beneath. Prickly mouthfeel, Some warmth on the swallow. Finish sharp and bittersweet. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 500ml. A clear amber colour with a small head. Aroma is biscuity malt, a touch of floral hops and grapefruit. Taste is sweet roasted malt with caramel and a touch of citrus hoppiness in the finish. Very smooth mouthfeel. Fairly high carbonation. A fairly refreshing bitter.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Clear orange-red pour. Thinly headed, becoming headless, but aggressively fizzy. Some stale vegetable nuttiness in the snout. A sniff of dogbasket. Some ganja-ish leafy hops as it reaches room temperature. Papery, cardboard vegetable maltiness verging towards drainpour territory, with a simplistic bite of hop bitterness in the finish. A lick of metal. Creamy malt afters. Exceptionally bog standard bottled bitter with all the character boiled out of it.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. An amber coloured beer with is typical Black Sheep. That is safe and a little dull. Very English in aroma and smell and balancedness of malt and hop. But really plain and unexciting. Maybe fruitier than its stable mates, but moving on......

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle from Sainsbury, Ashford. My first new rating of 2007, Crystal clear amber colour with lastng rocky off white head. Some peppery citrus hop aroma. I thought that it might be filtered and pasteurised and therefore a bit dead. Some candy sugar suggests that it is pasteurised. Bit biscuity on aroma. Some lovely citrus lemon hop on finish, with good bitterness. Bit soapy maybe. The middle is a bit empty with that boiled sweet flavour. Hops are good though.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: clear amber with an off-white head; grapefruit aroma; taste is sweet, strong and chewy with a dry finish which balances the sweetness well.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amber with a white head. There was a little sourness in the aroma, followed by sweet malt, which was the main element in the taste before a dry, fruity finish. This was quite good, if no classic.
