3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 theisti (2822) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - APR 25, 2013
Listed as the 2013 Red IPA on the menu. Half pour at the brewery in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a lightly hazed red golden with a small white head. The aroma is citrus resin, fresh, balanced against a soft tasted malt grain. The taste is the fresh hop right up front, and carrying the flavor throughout. Citrus and resin. The malt is present to balance a bit, though is certainly in the back seat to the hops. The palate is medium to light bodied, soft natural carbonation, and a resin dry earth finish. Nice one.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is clear copper with a frothy cream head an great lacing. Floral/grassy aroma, honey, bread, citrus, light grapefruit, and straw. Taste is very floral, somewhat soapy, honeycomb, a touch waxy, fruity, and doughy with a medium bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Very clean and delicate much like their pale with a more pronounced bitter bite. Tasty stuff.
