4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour with a faint ruby highlight around the edges, with a persistent and thin light beige head with plenty of lace. Aroma of light roasted coffee, caramel, and a touch of dark cocoa with some floral hops. Flavor is nice and sweet with a dark and mysterious sweet roastiness, a bit of black coffee, earthy caramel, and a light finish of grassy bitterness. Nice and pleasantly roasty, but still sweet and charming like toast with a bit of amber caramel and light chocolatiness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewery. Pour is deep brown/mahogany with a small brown head and good lacing. Big roasty/chocolatey aroma, somewhat grassy, toasted bread, caramel, and pine. Taste is roast, espresso, dark cocoa, grass, brown sugar, and honey with a toasted bitter finish. Somewhat lifht body with low carbonation, leaving yearning for more body. Not a bad porter but a bit too light and kind-of boring.
