Sample from Studio Track #2014-02 at the tap room. The beer is a hazy reddish-orange color with a medium off-white head that recede steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Fruity nose with spice and malt notes. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, earthy yeast and spice. The finish is fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can. A hazy red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of spices, malt, and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, dusty hops, yeast, and spices, leading to a dry finish.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours a cloudy orange with a smallish, off-white head. Very sweet caramellish nose with only a subdued touch of yeast. Medium body, very sweet tropical fruit and caramel and again only a touch of the spicy Belgian Saison yeast. Rather subdued hops. Decently drinkable, but not much of a Saison. 300514

Draft. Pours a thin, ivory head with minimal lacing over a clear medium amber (SRM 15) body......nose is citrus peel, orange, lemon, coriander, cereal, light rye type spice, minimal hop tones.....taste is cereal, light toasted malts with toast and bread tones, rye spice, slightly sweet, with floral honey notes, leading to a moderate lightly spicy bitter finish.....mouth feel, medium body, mildly astringent, carbonation makes a mild acid finish. This is a very atypical Saison. It is more of a cross between a Saison and a Specialty Grain IPA. It is a rich, thick beer with layers of complexity in aroma and flavor. To get it back to a Saison, would mean completely changing the recipe, decreasing the American hop standard, using less dark malts, and replacing them with the lighter roasts. A different yeast might make an improvement but for the above rating it is interesting, for the BJCP guidelines, a mess. BJCP 8/2/12/4/7

On tap at BSB. Reddish amber appearance with a sticky off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, citrus/tropical fruits, yeast and pale malts. Similar flavor adding pear, apricot and an earthy bitterness. Decent.

On tap at black shirt. Aroma is feet and sour fruit. Flavor is yeasty and spicy, but the feet come roaring back on the finish.

Smells like dirt and cedar. Looks like an amber ale. The main taste is malty I think but the aftertaste is not great. Taste like I just licked wood (pun!!).

On tap @ Black Shirt. Pours a reddish orange appearance with an off white head. Tangerine citrusy, floral hoppy, caramel aroma. Spicy, a bit goopy, caramel, a bit nutty, citrusy flavor. Pass.
