Named after the uniquely Austin structures, Moontower features liberal use of rich and roasted malts to produce a sipping beer aimed at keeping you warm during those few months that Austin actually drops below 50 degrees.

(Draught) Pours a black body with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, grain, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, and grass with a dry, bitter finish.

Very dark beer, with a nice tan head on it. Has a very sweet malty nose on it that goes hand in hand with the taste, lots of coffee notes, some tobacco, and a hint of caramel. The taste lingers for quiet a while and is quiet pleasant.

I had a cold when I tried this so I couldn’t get much of the aroma. The appearance was very dark brown with not much head. The roasted malt was very prevalent. The was very little bitterness and it wasn’t too sweet. It was lighter than I expected for an Imperial Stout. Overall it was good beer.

Draught. Pitch black with a steady brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted barley, and a touch of coffee. Huge dark chocolate notes, near to no sweetness, heavily-roasted coffeee, mild acidity, and a strong alcohol presence without being overwhelming. Thick and creamy. A really well-balanced example of the style.

Aroma I ave. very alcoholic. Dsrk black, large deep tan head. Extremely woody taste. Very cooked, roasted malt and chocolate flavors also. Hits you and you know it.
