1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Draught at brew pub. Dark body. Weird sour taste that brings up flavors of blue cheese. Whatever the intention, this one was not on the money. Couldn’t finish.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown with a reddish hue when held to the light. Decent tan head. Aroma is straight raspberry and so is the flavor except it’s slightly ruined by a little metallic taste mixed in there. The acidity is just too high and so it finishes tart and dry.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep reddish brown with a tan head that has a slight red hue and dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of raspberries that are mainly sweet with a hint of tartness. Flavor starts with sweet raspberries that transition to a slight tartness and has a hint of roasted malts in the finish.

Raspberry, raspberry, raspberry! The fruit flavor is very nicely rendered with just the right amount of sour and tartness. Unfortunately, it overpowers all the other flavors. Dial it down a notch or two, and it’ll be a winner!
