On tap at the brewpub. The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the burnt malt and chocolate. The flavor is more of the same. The predominant flavor is a mix of heavily charred/burnt malt with some chocolate and roasted malt mixed in. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A nice American porter.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2012 Almost burnt malt aroma, but the aroma is light for such a dark beer. Thinnish malty flavor of coffee, cocoa and molasses. Palate coating texture. Sort of nostalgic of fishing. Just like the dockhand. On nitro, it pours with a lasting head, leaves a victorian-like Lac on the glass and has a velvety smoothness that compliments the spring temperatures and whatever she’s wearing, but the finish is more bland.
