COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A delightful alternative to mainstream American lagers; our flagship beer, Black Star Golden Lager is a full bodied traditional American beer. Our unique double hopping process gives this beer a pronounced hop aroma and a crisp refreshing finish.

Got this at Grocery Outlet, a six pack of bottles for 5.99. Dissappointing. This poured a dark amber with a head that dissappeared pretty rapidly and balrely stuck around. Lacing was noticible, but not much presence. Aroma was slight malt, not much to it. Flavor was light toasted malt and the so-called double hopped recipe was barely noticable. Mouthfeel was pretty much on the watery side. Carbonation was okay. It is drinkable, but given the price I’d rather drink PBR or Schlitz Original.

This gold color lager tastes a lot like the other "American lagers" it claims to be like. It has a little more roasted flavor and is crisp and easy to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Clear golden pour, white head. Grainy, a bit of corn, light sweetness, and not much hops. Very bland, but its easy drinking.

Bottle shared by wihorock. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Light to medium grassy lager aroma. Light to medium body with a thin smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium grass sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer.

Serving: from bottle purchased at Total Wine & More. Aroma: lightly hoppy. Appearance: small, frothy, white, initial head which dissipated in seconds. Fair lacing. Clear, sparkling, yellow body. Taste: lightly sweet initial flavor and lightly bitter finish with short duration. Palate: light body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: nothing memorable. Just an average lager.

Can. Slightly chill hazed orange gold with a fluffy white head. Light citrus hops and some grassiness in the aroma with some grain. Slightly sweet grains continue into the flavor, butter and grassy hop finish. Medium body, and some veg sneaks in.

No discernible aroma. Pours a clear, gold. Pretty smooth, no bitterness at all. Picked up a six-pack for free free through a grocery store promotion. Probably wouldn’t buy this, but for free... yeah, sure.

~Sweet corny malt aroma with subtle spicy hops ~Pours clear golden color with lasting dense white head. ~Sweet yet crisp malt in flavor up front balanced out with smooth spicy hop bitterness. ~light medium bodied with med high CO2, lingering sweetness in finish. ~As an alernative to BMC this turned out quite nice. I would be happy drinking this all day in the sun playing lawn games and barbequing. This would go great with smoked ribs.

Bottle. Golden copper, with a standard lager eye appeal. Drinks with a full body, well rounded malt character, with a nice subtle hop kiss to finish. All American lagers should be this way. (#4760, 8/5/2012)
