3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at brewpub
My first sample in a flight of five was a passable mild ale. It did not have any glaring flaws which is always a good sign for a relatively low ABV release meant to see how good the brewers are.
Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy brownish red base is muddled with a wisp of white head. Peanuts, almonds, and light malts give this a sweet impression that is gentle on the senses.
Flavor / Palate - Honey, almonds, banana cloves, and hints of apple core sweeten the palate after just a single sip. There’s nothing exciting going on but this does a good enough job. I’m not sure if it is a regular release or something experimental. If it does come on tap again I’ll give it a second chance.
