3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Aroma of sweet roasted malts. Pours a clear reddish brown with no head or lacing. The taste is much like the nose with hints of nuts and a strong, but quick, bitter, burnt molasses finish and aftertaste. Medium-light bodied (a little thin) with fizzy carbonation throughout. Overall, better than I was lead to believe, but I probably won’t buy again.

A decent dark ale. Nothing wrong with it but nothing distinctive. I would drink it again.

Dark amber pour with an off-white head. The aroma has some toffee notes, which also come through in the flavor. I also get a little toffee in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a dark brown with a creamy head. Roasty and a bit of burnt toast. Much too sweet though. Didn't like this.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A stream of maple from a 12oz bottle (left at our house by a guest) fills a chestnut/cola brown (maybe 25-30 SRM) with a cm of tan head, moderate coarseness, that fizzes away in a few minutes to a film. Aroma is caramel, light butterscotch and nut candy (Mary Janes), moss. Medium body with lots of prickly carbonation to lighten it up. Flavor is moderate Mary-Jane candy, light caramel, and more herbal grass and hint of juniper, broccoli, and burnt toast. Aroma is the highlight.
