Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - Winter. Also available bottle conditioned.
The winter beer. A relaxing, warming infusion of fine malts with generous helpings of crystal and chocolate grain. Generously hopped with the fine aromas and bitterness of English Challenger and Progress hops make this a formidable brew. A final secret wintery twist makes this beer pure fireside nectar.
Ingredients: Pale malt, crystal malt, chocolate malt, torrefied wheat. Progress and Goldings hops. Mace, ginger and lemons.

Bottle.Dark and virtually stout like.Unusual earthy taste with a bit of sourness. What did they put in it to obtain this unusual and not really pleasant flavour?

Reddish colour. Slightly cloudy. Spicy aroma - nutmeg and coriander to the fore. More of the same on the palate. Some sour notes. Finishes quite dry, which is a good counterpoint to the spices. Plenty of grip, but not too extreme. I liked this one. Cask (gravity dispense), White Cliffs Beer Festival 2005.

White Cliffs Winter Ales Fest. Gravity. Nutmeg aroma which appears again in a fairly average dark bitter base.
