3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Gravity cask at the Liberty Belle, Ely. Light brown with a bit of white head. Scent of redcurrants, tea, birchwood. Taste is decisively bitter with very little tempering sweetness. Long papery dry finish. Boy this is dry. A lovely session bitter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[cask at Cloisters Bar, Edinburgh] Clear coppery brown colour, with a thin white head. Lightly caramel aroma, biscuity malt. Similar flavours – the biscuit wins over against the sweeter caramel edge. No real hop in evidence, more toasty bitterness

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Icing sweet notes, tablet clear body, easing white head. Slightly caustic initial taste with a Butterscotch sweetness and the silkiest mouth-feel of the crop. Another impressive finish that sees through the dryness well, perhaps the nudging build-up and low ABV assist but a real sparkler of hops fizzes quickly on the finish before a bitter linger zips it up.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On cask @ Cloisters. Another well made beer which I think is slightly spoilt by the chalky water. An amber bitter with nice head, there’s the typical toffee and biscuit bitter notes you expect on both nose and taste. The palate is balanced.

Cask (CWAF2012, Thursday)
Quoth Anna: Aroma of toffee and oldish in a good way. Finish is quite sweet, though not shot on hops. Almost mushrooms in there. Best part of the finish is about 10s after swallowing when it all comes together nicely.
