Bottle Batch #100 thanks to JohnGalt1. Pours out a golden amber topped with a small sand head. Aroma was nice caramel, vanilla, bourbon, and light floral notes. Taste was sweet plenty of the caramel, vanilla, oak, bourbon, and yes still very hot. Maybe a few years on this to help mellow wouldn’t hurt.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ditmier (1509) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 8, 2010
2009 Bottle - Pours a clear and ruddy amber with a small beige head...aroma is pretty hot, caramel, musty, plenty of bourbon and vanilla, but something a bit dirty as well...flavour is plenty sweet, candy malt, caramel corns, fire...tons of barrel, almost over the top, and the finish is a bit too thick and sticky...all things considered, it was still a bold representation of the style, and I’d like to try some more from this brewery...
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jake65 (2166) - Williston, North Dakota, USA - MAR 5, 2010
Bottle - huge thanks to JohnGalt1. Pours a gorgeous amber color with a thin sandy head. Nose is bourbon, citrus, caramel, and florals. The flavor is a rather smooth blend of caramel, candied sugar, florals, oak, and bourbon. A little hot, but the bourbon and oak really mellows out everything and makes this very drinkable. Cool brew (and bottled, hooray!) from a small MT brewery.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - FEB 27, 2010
Bottle:   Deep caramel, dirtier as you engage the bottom of the bottle, moderate to large frothy light beige head, good retention, fairly nice lacing.   Soft sweet malts on the nose, some citrus zest, caramel, with a background of bourbon, vanilla, dark pitted fruit, and chocolate.   Smells tasty!   Nothing stands out, everything being equal parts.   Smooth on the tongue, malty, sweet, citrus zest ringing up front, backside yielding the caramel, dark pitted fruit, and chocolate.   While not heavy, this is rather smooth and delicious.   While the site suggests waiting a year, I think its fairly damn good now.   Hop aspect is low, so no need to wait for any sort of bitterness to die down.   I only wished it were a little heavier/thicker.   Very easy to put down, and the 10.8% ABV is well hidden.   Not hot, but rather warming.   Great sipper.   Malty finish, a litle more alcohol is noticeable.   I drank the **** out of their IPA when I was in Great Falls.   Glad to see that they bottled this rarity.   Thank you Beth for sending me one of these!
